Swamp Milkweed, Asclepias incarnata
This popular perennial grows to 3 feet tall with beautiful pink flowers that attract all manner of butterflies and pollinators. Swamp Milkweed produces a chemical that protects it from herbivorous insects and animals, making it deer resistant. Fragrant flowers bloom from early to mid summer and seed pods are easy to save and share. Swamp Milkweed thrives in wet soils such as swamps and marshes but will tolerate moist clay and loam soils.
