Projects waiting for leadership

Catoctin Creek - Butterfly Meadow Expansion - Fall 2025

• Help expand the native wildflower habitat at Catoctin Creek Nature Center. Nature Council has approved a budget for this work to take place. The project leader will assist by selecting native plant varieties that will work well in the project area, ordering the plants, and coordinating a planting day. Nature Council is poised to support through an approved budget, ordering in conjunction with our Fall native plant sale, and leveraging our volunteer list to publicize the planting date and follow-on maintenance.

Webinar Coordinatior - Ongoing

• Help with our quarterly Master Naturalist continuing education webinars. This volunteer will assist with planning and coordinating with speakers, as well as scheduling and executing the webinars via Zoom.

Student Nature Writing Anthology - 2025-2026 School Year

• Help us publish our first-ever Student Nature Writing Anthology. Work with the editor of our 2025 Nature Writing Anthology and our school program volunteer to help develop this partnership effort for next school year.
