Master Naturalist Continuing Education Webinar Series: Restoring Rivers Through Dam Removal: Insights from the Patapsco River with Jessie Thomas-Blate, Director River Restoration, American Rivers - June 4, 2026 from 7pm-8pm -- Register Here
  • Learn how dam removal is helping restore river ecosystems and improve community resilience. Jessie Thomas-Blate will discuss the broader role of dam removals in river restoration and share insights from the ongoing Patapsco River project, including how these efforts reconnect waterways, improve habitat, and support healthier rivers.
  • ​Jessie Thomas-Blate is Director of River Restoration at American Rivers and has worked on dam removal and river restoration projects across the Mid-Atlantic since 2013. Based in Alexandria, Virginia, she provides technical assistance on restoration projects and manages the nation’s comprehensive database of dam removals while collaborating with partners nationwide to advance healthy rivers for both people and wildlife.
