We held our first annual native plant sale at Fountain Rock Nature Center on Sept. 24, 2022. We had a great turnout! Many native, pollinator-friendly plants and wildflowers went home to beautify our community and support the ecosystem. In the past two years, we have provided 1800 pollinator-friendly plants for home gardens throughout our area. Our next plant sale opens August 24th! We are excited to again offer these plants to our community!
Fall 2024 Plant Sale FAQ
Q: When are the plants available to purchase online?
A: The sale will open and accepting purchases online from August 24th, 2024.
Q: What kind of payment methods can I use to purchase plants?
A: You can purchase plants using any major credit or debit card through our online shopping cart.
Q: How can I pick up my plants?
A: All plants will be available for pickup on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at Fountain Rock Nature Center (8516 Fountain Rock Ct., Walkersville, MD 21793) between the hours of 10am and 2pm. THIS IS THE ONLY PICKUP DAY. We ask that you proceed in your car through the parking lot toward the nature center, and go through the bus loop. There, our volunteers will help you load your plants directly into your car. We will also have volunteers directing traffic to let you know where to go.
Q: Do you ship or deliver plants?
A: No. Pick up only! By participating in this sale, you agree that you will pick up your plants from Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at Fountain Rock Nature Center (8516 Fountain Rock Ct., Walkersville, MD 21793) between the hours of 10am and 2pm. We are not able to ship or deliver!
Q: Can someone else pick up my plants for me if I cannot make it on the day of the pickup?
A: Yes. Another person can pick up your plants for you, but please email us at [email protected]. Please provide your name, your order number, and the first and last name of the person who will be picking up your plants in your stead. We also require them to present a picture of your photo ID on their mobile device as a security measure.
Q: Can I change my order after it is submitted?
A: Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to respond to requests for order changes after the order has been submitted. However, if you have a question or a request, please send us an email at [email protected], and, if stock allows, we will do our best to honor your request.

Q: Why don't I see a plant from the preview listed for sale?
A: Sometimes there are unexpected changes from our supplier. We regularly update the downloadable catalog with the plants we expect to be able to offer, but the catalog may have changed since you first downloaded it. Also, when a plant is out of stock, it may no longer appear in the catalog.
Q: My plant of choice is out of stock. Will it come back into stock?
A: After the sale starts on August 24th, 2024, all plants will be in stock until they sell out. Unfortunately, at this time, we have no plans to restock once a plant variety has sold out.
Q: What if I forget to pick up my plants?
A: Please email us within 24 hours at [email protected] if you forgot to pick up your plants. That way we can hold them for you for up to a week but cannot promise that they will be in tip-top condition. After that any plants not picked up will be planted onsite at Fountain Rock Nature Center in one of our pollinator gardens, and they will be considered a donation to the park.

A: Any unsold plants will be available for pick-up on September 21 and can be purchased for cash only during the pick-up time. We cannot guarantee that any specific variety or quantity will be available the day of the event. Any purchaser wanting specific quantities and varieties of plants should pre-order them through the website during the open ordering period of August 24 - September 15, 2024.
